Indoor Recess Fun!
COPIED FROM AN EMAIL
Happy New Year!! I hope
everyone had a wonderful break with lots of relaxing time with family and
friends. I know our family did! As much as I enjoyed it, I was ready to get
back to school to see your kiddos and get back into a routine. : )
My goal in the new year is to give you more communication
about what is happening in our classroom.
I have tried the blog, but am noticing most people like emails a little more. My goal is to send an email each Friday with
classroom happenings and important dates.
Every other Friday (starting next Friday), my email will be more like a
newsletter. I will save the blog for
pictures and such, so be sure and check it out.

Service
Learning Update- Beulah Ralph is a service learning school. Each grade level is going to complete a
service learning project. This is
totally student driven. Our grade level
has gotten together about 4 or 5 times brainstorming ideas and what they’d like
to do. They have decided they would like
to create baskets for hospitals to give to families that have given birth to a child
with special needs. They learned how
often these families don’t have much to keep them busy while in the
hospital. Students have lots of ideas of
items they would like in the baskets (crossword puzzles, journals, playing
cards, Sudoku, candy and more). To raise
money to buy materials, students have decided to have a walk-a-thon. The 4th grade teachers are trying
to figure out the next steps. If anyone
has great ideas, please feel free to share!
·
In Friday folders you will notice notes coming
home again about Beulah Book Buddies. This is a great opportunity for parents and
students to get involved in book clubs at school. Send the note back if you or your child are
interested. Please let me know if you
have questions or ideas.

Friday, January 13th, our class will
be dressing to match another class as part of our celebration of kindness week. We have been paired with Mrs. Smith’s 1st
grade class. Our classes voted and we
will be wearing black and gold for Mizzou.
Show your spirit!!

Don’t’ forget to turn in Six Flags Reading Logs. They
are due February 10th. I am
sending extra copies home with kiddos that might have misplaced the first one
and requested and new one. I am totally
fine with backlogged the reading minutes.
Let me know if you need another copy!
