4th Grade Chicken
Beulah Ralph now has a chicken coop. Each grade level was given the chance to name a chicken and this week we were able to meet our 4th grade chicken. The kids loved it and are excited to go out and visit the chicken again soon. The decided name is.... (drum roll please) RUSTI. Here are some cute pictures I tried to grab from Rusti's visit to our classroom.
Pumpkin Drop
In science we have spent quite a bit of time learning all about plant and animal adaptations. The kids have LOVED learning about all the animal adaptations and were intrigued with plants. With pumpkins everywhere right now, we decided to spend some time this week looking at adaptations of a pumpkin and learning more about them. We talked all about the external structures and were able to see those. For the internal structures, I asked them how the heck we could get to the inside. And although cutting it would have worked, I wanted to make it more fun....
Needless to say they LOVED that we threw the pumpkin off the roof of the school.
