Observations Outside, Math Groups, Writing Letters and Library Check-Out

Your kiddos are so fun!  We have had a really busy week already and it's only Wednesday!!

We have been learning about how to write amazing observations in our science notebooks.  We decided to head outside to make observations about the land before learning about erosion.

In writing, we have been learning about letters. Students had to puzzle piece a letter back together and decide what parts went where.  We had great discussions about the different sections of a friendly letter.  I hope you notice a different in their letters in their Weekend Journals this week!
Math groups are in full swing.  Kids have loved learning new games and starting our rotations.  I've loved listening to your kids talk about numbers!
Today, we got to go to the library for the first time this year.  We learned about new features of the library, took a library tour, checked out books and cuddled with reading buddies.  Our scheduled library time is Wednesday at 11:00.  Please make sure students bring books back each week.

Solar Eclipse Fun

The Solar Eclipse on Monday was amazing.  The kids were so excited and the information we learned ahead of time was so neat!  I got a little choked up during totality.  The amazing experience, coupled with the kids excitement made me so happy to be in the exact spot I was that day enjoying it with your kiddos.  We had such a fun day.  Thanks to all the parents that joined, sent fun snacks and simply talked to your child about this amazing once in a lifetime experience.

We started the morning with a fun white board question...
We were set with fun snacks for the day...
After a little more reading on what would happen to our shadows, we made fun shadow boxes to watch how these would change.
Then, we planted ourselves and got ready!!
