Hands on Learning

This week students have been doing lots of hands on learning this week.

This is one of my favorite quotes about teaching...


They have been learning about different types of sounds in Science.  Students have been researching it, making a poster and are excited to teach each other what they have learned! 

"Finger boards" have also been a popular gadget around our room.  They love the end of the day when they can all gather around and share what they've learned and others can try it out!

Fractions have been tough to learn and compare.  Hands on manipulatives have helped... a ton!!  Students spent time this week making fraction strips and fraction tracks to help them compare fractions.
